Dear Retriever Parents,
We hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying the final days of summer break! With the start of school just around the corner, we wanted to touch base and put a few important things on your radar. Starting today, you’ll begin receiving more information to help you navigate the year ahead.
First, welcome to all of our new families—we’re so glad to have you join the JHE community! And to our returning families, welcome back!
Here are a few things to get you started:
The first day of school is Thursday, August 7.
Meet the Teacher Night is Wednesday, August 6, from 3:30–5:30 PM.
During this time, you’ll get to meet your child’s teacher, pick up your CarRider tag, get to know or reconnect with some of our Retriever families, and enjoy the opportunity to buy a treat from Kona Ice.School Supplies:
This year, families have the option to pay a $31.50 supply fee instead of purchasing individual supplies. Our teachers actually prefer this option, as it allows them to purchase exactly what is needed for the classroom. If you prefer to shop yourself, grade-level supply lists are linked below:All classes will also be requesting optional donations of tissues, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes. We recommend checking in with your child’s teacher to see what’s needed most.
Online Payments:
We’re working to minimize cash handling this year. If you haven’t already, we recommend setting up a KEV School Cash Online account to streamline payments for fees and activities.
JHE is growing at a fast pace, which means we have many new staff members we’re excited to introduce to you soon. As we continue to grow, we are currently looking for a Kindergarten Educational Assistant. If you or someone you know is interested in this position, please email me at trent.heffner@rrps.net.
